St. Andrew United Methodist Church

I have had the pleasure of visiting St. Andrew located at 4590 Clarksville Highway several times with my family. The people that make up the congregation there are wonderful and inviting. They welcomed their newly appointed minister, Reverend Noreen Adams and her way cool son David last Sunday. Take the time to welcome them to the neighborhood and stop by St. Andrews to say hello. With her energy and openess I believe the community will soon be very involved in activities at St. Andrew.

WCRC & Cedarwood

This month's meeting was held at Cedarwood were I met with the lovely Linda and her sister Karen. The meeting was full of ideas and Linda suggested we get started right away as she has been ready and willing to put Whites Creek on the map. Their wedding business is much more than design, wedding and bringing dreams to life. The energy you feel when walking on the grounds is magical and just talking with Linda lets you know this is the place to began your future. Here is a recap of our meeting:

1. Develop a logo for WCRC
2. Propose and support the Beautification Program by acquiring and installing community flags on the main corridor of Whites Creek starting at Cedarwood which is listed on the National Historic Register as part of the district
3. Promote ideas and support for printed materials
4. Focus on Organic Farms, music, artist and residents
5. Help identify opportunities to direct media and promotion to the area
6. Plan a Whites Creek Days event and hold a "mock wedding" on the grounds of Cedarwood
We could have stayed all day because we were having so much fun...will keep you posted as we progress and let you know when the next meeting takes place. Yes...we need YOU!

Spice Cake & Warm Hearts

I was feeling a little warm and fuzzy so I decided to make a spice cake! It reminds me of my childhood days growing up with 8 siblings and sharing baked goodies...

My sweet sister Benita gave me a great recipe for cream cheese frosting and it so warmed my heart and my stomach...note that I ate 3 pieces today...and felt good about it! Not a crumb was left over.
Benita's Cream Cheese Recipe
4 oz cream cheese (soft)
1/2 cup soft butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup powder sugar
Mix ingredients together well and frost away!
